The start of Dove Dale as seen from the lower slopes of Thorpe Cloud. The dale is the most popular in the Peak District and is owned by the National Trust. The River Dove runs through the ravine for just over 3 miles from Milldale in the north to Thorpe Cloud in the south. Dovedale is famous for its stepping stones and numerous rock formations including the Tissington Spires, Reynard's cave, Dove Holes and Pickering Tors to name a few.
