Evening sun in the spring illuminates Gruinard Bay backed by the impressive mountain of An Teallach, ""The Forge"" (3484 ft). Gruinard Island in the bay was used for germ warfare experiments during the second world war and was contaminated with Anthrax. Following de-contamination it was declared safe in 1990.
