Land's End is the most westerly point on the English mainland. Longships Lighthouse is situated on an island of Serpentine and Quartz. Known to the Romans as ""Belerion"" meaning ""Sea of Storms"", Land's End is called ""Pedn a Wollaz"" in the ancient Cornish language.
